The Wreck of '07

In January 2007, I crashed my bicycle on Roswell Road when I hit the lip of a drainage grate. I was going fast enough to snap my (expensive) carbon fiber fork, and I flew clear of the bicycle and landed in the road. I received some scrapes on both elbows and my right knee as well as some assorted bruises, but the most major injury was where my face hit the asphalt. I lacerated a spot above my left eyebrow and needed a couple of stiches. In all, I came out very lucky—I could have died—so I'm hoping that the event knocked some of the stupid out of me.
